Transgo Shift Kit question
hello all,
I am looking into getting a transgo shift kit. 95 gt auto (aode). I was looking at the transgo website and found the right one i believe.
SK®AODE
(4R70W)
AODE 91-04
Ford/Mercury
Lincoln 94-up
Mustang, T-Bird,
Bronco, Lt Trucks
Calibration and Assembly Upgrades. Installs in 10 minutes. Crisp but Smooth Shifts. Corrects/Re-duces/Prevents: 4th band failure; 2nd roller failure; long soft 1-2 and 2-3 shifts; soft lockup; reduces accidental high-pressure parts breakage. Special Hi-tech fwd clutch rings, SOL regulator valve & EPC relief. For firm shifts use AODE-HD2
So, my question is, does anybody know the difference between the SK Aode ad Aode-HD2. In their description, is says "for firm shifts use AODE-HD2". Maybe the SK AODE is for rebuilding an old tranny or something- it says it installs in 10 minutes, but the kit installs in like 4 hours, right? I plan on doing it myself, cant be that hard.
Another question i have is, does the shift kit make kind of "jolt" you in the car when its shifting (while just cruising)? My dad has a roadrunner with a shift kit and that damn thing really clunks into 2nd and 3rd. I havent road in a newer stang with a shift kit in it, but I know that mine is pretty lame as far shifting- kind of just coasts into gear.... Thanks

i dont know about that kit it isnt even listed as a transgo. i got mine off summit for $116- here is the link http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
It sure doesnt take 10min to install....more like 5 hours. Unless you have the know how i wouldnt do it myself..i didnt....you have to drill holes in the valve body.... Its well worth it though my shifts kick you back in the seat and are precise and dont flare anymore....definatley get it!!!!

alright, good info. thats what I was wondering. Im not sure what the "other" kit is for. Thanks, with new 3.73 gears and a shift kit, the car should be fun to drive again..
