Spacer
I just purchased a throttle body spacer for my 89 5.0, and had a question before i began install. does the spacer go before or after the egr plate? any info is greatly appreciated.
probably before the egr plate as the passageway for the gases to get to the EGR valve runs up through the manifold and into the egr plate and then via an internal passage to the valve body itself. I say this since I recently pulled mine off and plugged this passage in the manifold and plate with a marine epoxy since mine is a race only set-up.
I made my own cold air intake that you might want to try if you don't use the foglights.
I got a 5" x 4" galvanized duct reducer and a 9" x 4" floor register and connected them with 4" aluminum flex duct. Used a donut of plastic cut to fit the inside diameter of the foglight opening in the bumper and pop riveted the reducer to it. enlarged the opening in the fenderwell where the air cleaner is and bent the register to fit arond it and then sealed it with RTV and pop rivets to the fenderwell. hardest part is connecting the hose from here down to the reducer at the bumper. add couple big hose clamps and you're in business for less than $15 and a couple hours of sweat equity and the intake isn't down on the ground sucking up dirt and moisture like the vacuum cleaner store bought kits I've seen for sale in the magazines. Mine added almost 2 mph to my top end speed![sm=smiley20.gif]
