I don't have the pinout, but you can get the diagnostic code to find out why the engine light came on. It's based on a sequence of flashes, but it may help you pinpoint your problem.

Basically you stick a wire in the OBD connector, turn the key on and count the flashes of the engine light. There is a list as to what the codes mean. A Haynes manual would do wonder for you at this point. $15 at the parts store. Tells you how and what they mean. Also some good troubleshooting tips.

well i disconected the maf and started it up and it hesitated for a second and the reved at 2000 rpm for a few of seconds and then i went for a ride. it might be just my imagination but it seemed to have better acceleration then before and i did notice the engine light stay on this time. i know what you mean when you said squirrlly. why would it hurt my pride if anyone found out i disconected the maf.

hehe No, hurt your pride because you'd look like you couldn't drive a stick!!

You definitely need to get the codes and find out what's up. Bad gas mileage, engine light, hard starts, etc. OBD should tell you something. The last of which will be MAF failure....after all you diconnected it. <grin>

You definately should get the codes pulled.A buddy has a SNAP-ON diagnostics and it is by far the best out ive seen but not exactly cheap.Take it to any reputable shop or dealer and have them run the codes and then go home and fix it.
