Rear calipers question
Ok guys, got another problem with my girlfriend's 1994 Mustang. Its a v6 (3.8L) and I was going about replacing her pads at all four wheels today. Found out the two back rotors were no good, beyond resurfacing so I replaced those two. Anyways, Got the front pads on perfectly fine, problem is with the rear calipers. My buddy and I both tried to push the piston on the left and right rear wheels and it would not budge. Yes we did unscrew the brake fluid resivoir cap before we started doing anything so we wouldn't blow out the master cylinder. So the calipers in the rear are not budging one bit. My question is are these the screw in type or are the calipers simply no good. I'll be renting a caliper compression tool tomorrow to see if that works better than the C-clamp method. Any advice is greatly appreciated guys. Thanks.

They sell a caliper tool (under $20) that you can buy at any auto store. It attaches on a rachet.....screw it in and you're done. You can use tools you have, but be careful not to rip the dust cover.
I have the tool, I picked it up at autozone for 8 bucks and change. However does it screw in clockwise or counterclockwise? I've tried both ways and can't get the damn thing to budge still. The caliper tool keeps sliding out of the notches once I put maximum force on it.
Its that little f'in square tool with 5 different sets of nubs on it. Some round, some pie shaped, etc... I found the one with the round tips on the very edges of the square is the only set that fits. BTW, my buddy mentioned to me yesterday that on his last car a 1994 taurus he was able to turn his screw in calipers with a C-clamp (one of the big ones). I haven't tried that but it won't budge any other way. Any advice guys?
