What is the easiest way to install a new cam? Is there any way to do it without pulling the engine?

it would be for a 2001 GT

 

First off you have 2 cams. It can be done without taking out the engine.

- 3.8L OHV 12-valve V-6 193 hp Standard
- 4.6L SOHC 16-valve V-8 260 hp GT
- 4.6L DOHC 32-valve V-8 320 hp Cobra

 

Sorry Dollar but YOU are wrong. There are 2 cams. One in each head.

yes, but when you reference DOHC, doesnt that usually reference EACH head, not both? of course youre gonna have 2 cams in a V engine, but its still SOHC if each head only has one cam

Yes, you are correct... Cobra's have DOHC which is dual overhead cams.. So 2 cams per head for a total of 4.. Whereas the gt has SOHC, single overhead cam, which has 1 cam per head for a total of 2.
