Default Transgo make tranny go?!

Hey all.
I have been hearing more and more about the Transgo shift kit. I have a 97 4.6 Auto that I am thinking of installing one in. My question is: Does the kit have any ill effects for the tranny? Will it hinder my tranny life (now that just sounds wrong!) at all? The last shift kit I had was in a 79 Camaro (B&M) and loved it, but I only had that car for about 40k miles.
I hate to do anything that might jepordise the life of the tranny, knowing FORD trannies are a little weak on longevity!
Thanks guys and gals.
Troy
BTW, no mods to the car at all, just looking for better shifts and better fuel economy.

Tranny cooler is an absolute must. The shiftkit will prolong the life along with the cooler... Without the cooler, expect her to need replacing shortly.

so why does transgo not state that a tranny cooler should be used with its shift kits if they will kill the tranny without one?

Ask Transgo that.

It's dumb to even have an automatic without a tranny cooler anyways, but we won't get into that.
