Default Mod Question

Hey i heard after adding some new mods im going to have to get my chip retuned or its not going to run like at all...

is this true?
mods comming are
Edelbrock Performer Intake(1500-6500)
Accufab 70mm TB
73mm Pro-M Bullet MAF for 24lb Injectors
70mm EGR Spacers
Steeda Underdrive Pulleys
Chrome Breather Valve
24lb Fuel Injectors
Battery Relocation(dont see why this would do anything but whatever)

so am i going to have to get it retuned?
i dont think theres really any place around my area that could do such a thing
unless a normal garage can do it.

Currently have this cam
397-M-6250-B303 Duration': 224°/224° @ .050'
Lift: .480'/.480'
Trans: 5-Speed
Notes: Fair Idle, Good Low-End Torque, Significant Top-End Power Above 4,000 RPM

was in the car when i bought it, not sure if its been "tuned to the chip" or not...

you betcha! anytime you make major changes like MAF, injectors, cam, etc, the computer needs to be retuned. there are places that you can mail yours to and tell them what you added and they can burn you a new chip if there ain't anyplace close to you.
i detect by your posts today that the idea of a total package went out the window or am I mistaken?

don't know, I never tried it before. I know the Hypertech chip I bought for my '88 cost around $230 or so about 9 years ago. don't have a clue what they charge now.

try searching the internet for custom chip makers, I'm sure they're out there. I think that firms like Hypertech, Superchips, and others will burn a chip for you after you supply them with all the necessary information so that they can get it right the first time.

Check summit out, I was looking through there last week and I saw a listing for chips including custom ones. I think it was between $400 and $500. Let me know if you don't have a catolog and I'll see if I can find it and let you know what company it was.

just wait to install everything at once, so you dont have to get another tune...but personally, i dont think you need one, the maf will adjust the tune since you will be getting more air

all you gotta do is go to www.summitracing.com and www.jegs.com and request the free catalog. buy a little something and you'll be on their free mailing list until the day you die! check out www.holcombmotorsports.com too, they have some of the best prices on Mustang go fast goodies I have ever seen! Trust me, I've spent beaucoup bucks with all three and Holcomb can beat the other two a lot of times on the same brand name stuff.
You tired of winter up your way yet! I've been to the local track 3 times to race and once to spectate since February 28th. arent' you jealous!
