Default URGENT PROBLEM

i have a 1998 gt convertable and i just ccame back from a week away.....and i tried to start the car but all i get is one click. the battery is still charged..........wat can i do or what could be the cause of the problem????

Shorted connection or a bad starter/solenoid

starter/alternator/battery....sounds like a starter. try to jump start the car...if it works then you ruled out the starter.

when i turned the car on the cd player was working fine and the guage was at around 7

i did jump start the car and nothing happened the cd player worked thee whole time and i still got the click

ur gauge was at 7 volts??!?

if you said your gauge was at 7 and tha tmeans it's down to 7 volts. that may be too low for a jump in some cases. check each cell in the battery. It may be dead [&:]

New battery, take it in to auto parts store and they can test it and tell you for sure...

I had the same problem a while back. Try hooking your battery to someone elses for like 20-30 minutes. It worked for me. I ended up having to buy a new battery though.
