Default have 5 speed, want auto

Hi, was wondering if an auto transmission could be put into my 2000 3.8, in place of the 5 speed?
Someone in my household can't drive the 5 speed.
If it can be done, would it be very expensive? OTOH, going and buying a whole different car would be expensive too..considering dealer fees, etc.
So, is this swap feasible?
thanks so much,
Em

ps I personally LOVE the 5-speed, but......

the cheapest and easiest thing to do is to sell your car and buy what you want

+1

Forget autos, you can teach that person stick, continue to have fun driving your manual baby and save yourself a couple thousand.

Yeah, if they can't drive a stick....just too bad. My wife has pestered me since we got our '03 vert "Why don't you let me drive?" and "I never get to drive the Mustang". So I let her drive it and she backed into a fella in the church parking lot.
Oh well. It cost me a couple hundred bucks to have the Stang to myself...for a while anyway.
Later.

If there is a certain reason that they cant drive stick, like maybe disabled or something, that is one thing. ( not being mean if thats the case ) but drivin stick is like a second nature once you get the "hang" of it. And at first it can be super overwhelming. I just learned to drive stick about 3 years ago. ( i was 15 by the way ) but i just wanted to be able to drive it so badly i just figured it out, i think i figured it out in my mind first, then got it down. But maybe thats just me.........

I recommend teachin them if possible

Talk to other people with autos. Usually they'll be willing to trade you straight up their auto for your full manual setup. Find someone near you and they'll probably do the labor too
