Granatelli Rear coilover
I have them installed on my stang that I am redoing. It still hasnt his the road yet as it is still up on jackstands but I did have them on when I had the car down for a few days and I pressed the rear end down to see how stiff it was and it was incredibly stiff, great for drag racing definitely but might make for a bumpy ride on the road
Stiffness with coil-overs depends on the spring rate you are using with it. --- varying the spring rate will get you the stiffness (or lack thereof) you want. (then again Viagra does the same thing....hahaha)
I have KYB AGX adjustable gas shocks. I ordered the granatelli coilover kit off this site. www.neweraperformanceparts.com they were quick and i think pretty cheap. I also ordered through them a set of double adjustable upper control arms and a set of adjustable lower control arms made for coil over. They eliminate the spot for the spring and make them stronger. The shocks however I was not able to keep in place. The adjuster is mounted on the side of the shock and it hits the bracket that comes with the coil over. With some custom mods they will fit but im not worrying about that till later. Right now I just have stock shocks in there. If you end up getting them and have any troubles putting them in just let me know, i needed to mess around with them a little to get them to go in but the job wasnt too bad, good luck
347 I have the kit already but didn't install it yet.the springs seem little like the car will bottom out. But you said it seems stiffer didnt you. That would be better than to soft. Did you say you can't use kybagx shocks. I was hoping you could so I could adjust the ride if it was to soft with the coil overs. did you have to take your kicker shocks off. anything else youcan to tell me about them would becool. Thanks
You can use them but you'll have to cut out a piece of the bracket that comes with the kit to allow for the adjuster to clear. The springs do look small but because of where you are mounting them you dont loose much clearence if any. I had to cut off the dust covers on the shocks so the coil over set up would fit over it. I just used a grinder, if you do this careful you dont hit the shaft. any questions just ask
