Default control arms

so who knows anything about lower rear control arms? i dont have the money right now to do anything to my car but would like to know some info on things for the future. are they worth the money? what exactly do they do? where can i find a good set at a good price? i found these they kinda seem like a purely racing thing but i dont know. i found a few pages on them and they seem ok to me.
