what was it
My first car was a 65 Coupe...paid $200! My dad and I layed carpet and got a rolled 66 as partial payment. We took the motor and interior out of the 66 and put it all into the 65. I was 16, it was 1973. I came across this deal on a 66 so I bought it! My second car was a 68 Camaro! Sold the Mustang to get it...$600! Man have the times changed! I love my new pony and the memories it brings back. My dad turned 69 this April. I had a box with some old cloth and parts we used to build the first one. I sent him the corral and horse, the original from my 1965 we built...over 30 years later. THAT gentlemen, is why I have another Mustang. This one will not be sold. My son is 16 and he thinks he has claimed it. When they dig it up from my grave he'll have it!
Well... for me it was the need for a car since my other was totaled
I first went a a GM dealer and they had some pretty nice cars, but I felt they were not right for me (impala, malabu, etc). After that shop I went to a ford dealer (fette kia/ford) and I saw what they had in stock. I also noticed they had a lot of mustangs for sale. I was looking at one and the sales guy said so you are interested in one. I am yes, but it has to be a V8! (Since my last car was a 5.0 t-bird) The guy looked around and found a black auto GT. I looked at it and I was in love. I took it for a test drive and I had fun! I financed it that day :P
However, I never realized how much my ins was going to be for the next renewal

I had a '70 351CJ Ranchero. Parts were expensive & hard to come by. I noticed Mom bought this beautiful blue w\white top '89 Mustang. I'd been comparing my Ranchero's performance at the track to the Mustangs in MM&FF for over 5 years(of comparable modifications of course). I told Mom I want first shot at the mustang if she ever decides to sell it. She called me 2 years later & asked if i still wanted it. I was feeling antiquated being able to build Holley's blindfolded & yet knew nothing of modern fuel injection nor EEC\engine management computers. I decided it was time for a change...... Bought the Mustang & sold off the Ranchero......
