Hey guys,

Has anyone had a sunroof installed in their 05/06 mustang? I'm thinking about it before purchasing my mustang, because I value the addition quite a bit. If you have, what sort of issues have you run into? Any problems with structural integrity, warranty voids? What does everyone think of the sunroof idea anyway?

 

I am thinking about doing the same thing to my 97 mustang. and i am wondering the same questions. i would also like to know where i can get the best deal on a sunroof and whether or not i should have it professionally installed or do it myself.

 

I would never buy a used car with a sunroof, maybe thats just me, but it will leak sooner or later

 

i've seen an i think 03 with a sun roof and it looked okay, not that great not that bad

 

I had a toyota celica with a sunroof that was 14 years old. It never leaked. Maybe American cars makes crappy sunroof, but japs do not leak. I still love my mustang though.

 

forget the sunroof get a targa top. that's what i have.
It's a completely removable fiberglass top. Installed it myself. Cost $1700
I think manufacturer is JMS. It's the only manufacturer to make these tops.

 

my 89 ranger has an aftermarket sunroof and has never leaked either. Its been in there since 91. I would say if your sunroof leaked, then it must have been a "home brew" job. My stangs a vert, my truck has a sunroof, I would never not have a car with a "solid" roof..... just me though-
as for installing it, I havent had one installed, but definately would!

 

My cobra had a tilt/sliding sunroof put in and its a pretty sweet setup, clean... dont know if i would have had it done myself but the guy b4 me seemed to want one. doesnt leak or anything.
