Default Which is better?

Which would be faster after full bolt on's? A 94-95 5.0 GT or the 96-98 4.6 GT? The reason I ask is because theres a 5spd 95 GT for sale, and I was thinking of maybe buying it and modding the hell out of the 5.0 and seeing what happens.

I'm going with the 5.0.

5.0 all day long. Parts are cheap and readily available. Plus, the 96-98 4.6 didn't have the PI heads, so you'd have to do a swap right off the bat to get any decent power w/o a power adder.

yeah, 5.0 all the way. just be careful if you do anything involving the ecu. a buddy of mine has a 95 and did a lot of **** to it, paxton novi s/c and various internal changes, plus a few bolt on's and something's wrong where he set the timing foward and the ecu keeps resetting it on him somehow. he was pissed and i couldn't get all the facts outta him. but all in all the 5.0 is a way better choice.

Once you get your mods done, just have it dyno tuned, that should clear up any computer issues.

Yeah I had the same problem, thats why i had to go with a hypertech chip. However i do agree, the 5.0 is easier and cheaper to mod.
