I got a 91 gt with an automatic transmission if I stomp it trans fluid comes out the dip stick, gets all over headers that cant't be good. If anyone knows what causes this I would like to know.

 

Did you just have the fluid changed?Is the stick in all the way?Where does the fluid sit on the stick when the car is running and the trans is hot?Does the car drive ok (if you can drive it)?What collor and smell is the fluid?

 

I got the car about 6 months ago it did't do it then it just started for no apparent reason It drive and shifts fine as long as I never get on it it's fine but thats no fun. the sticks in all the way but it don't fit real tight If you can think of anything let me know.

 

You might have a very clogged filter. Or some one over filled the trans with fluid.I would recomend changing the fluid and fliter first. and while you are under the car check all the trans lines you might have a kink or some blockage.trans fluid expands when under presure and will go to the point of least resistance.If it still does it after that then U have some internal problem with the trans.how many miles on the car and do you know the ppl u bought it from

 

Thanks it has about 150000 on it as far as I know the tranny is still stock the motor has had a little work. guess I'll change the fluid and see what happens.
