HELP: Front end makes a thud when I turn and creeks
Hey everone.
After I picked up my car from a local clutch shop (after being there a month and still not fixing my problem) I took it home. I notticed massive amounts of rubber caked in my rear fender wells and over the rear quarters. The car was extreemly dirty and they had left the windows down at 1 point. By looking at my odometer i saw that they traveled 46 miles in my car for some reason. When I dropped off the car it was perfectly clean, I had washed and cleaned the interior the previos day.
So now that I have it back (Syncro's are messed in 3rd and 4th) the front end on the pass side front tire makes a loud THUD noise when I turn and the front suspension creeks. What do you think is the cause of this? It never did this before I dropped the car off and I plan on calling tomorrow and asking what happened to my car and trying to get them to repair the damages. They also put a large 1/4" rip in my shift boot and a 90 degree gouge about 1/4" long as well in my upper door panel.
They promised me that it would be kept inside the shop at all times, obviosly due to the sheer amount of DIRT all over it along with tar from the road it was not garaged. I am extreemly pissed off about all this.
So what do you guys think is up? What do I need to check out and replace? Also what should I do about this *******?
Thanks everyone.

I am extremely sorry to hear about your luck. Sounds like someone had fun in your car.!
Hopefully you took it to a fairly reputable place to have this work done, otherwise the owner could just refuse to fix the work because it would cost them more money. However, because of the extra amount of miles that they put on it, seems like this could involve a lawsuit if they don't help you out and fix what they did.
Again I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, I know that sort of thing can happen so always check out the garage before you drop your car off.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.

damn man that really sucks...
but if you figure out what the thud is, my car makes that noise too when i turn the wheel all the way.
i always thought it was just rubbing because my fronts are too wide

Man.. I am sorry for what happened to you.. If you have proof that they drove your car 46 miles you may be able to do something about it, but it would be very hard to proof that they did something to your car. If I was you I would probably go back to that shop and beat the s... out of the manager or whoever is responsible[:@] I once saw something similar happend to some guy who left his GT in a "cheap" muffler shop and I witnessed how they treated the car after installing a set of flowmasters. they just started the car and accelerated so hard that it spinned wheels (the car was cold) and then I saw the guy come back like 30 min later (a fat guy) eating taco bell inside the car.. I am actually pissed off just by reading your story... let me know how it goes....
That does suck... SOunds like they did a little bit of racing and partying in the car..... check them tires to see if theres any meat still on em..... for the front end noise sounds like you might have a damper out or somethings rubbin.... Check out your tir rods, ball joints and struts....... And make sure all your bushings havent gone bad
the rubber caked in the fenderwells means somebody was doing burnouts with your car, a lot of them. how far away is the nearest strip, could be they took it there, raced it, and drove it back to their shop. I hate to suggest this b/c I hate them in general, but you need to check about getting a lawyer to look into this and sue their asses off!
