New Ignition componants, new wirring noise
Alright. I'm not new to cars but I'm no engine guru either. I have a 98 Mustang GT 4.6 with the 5 speed. Bone stock engine except for a K&N Filter element, and Mobil 1 fully synthetic. I installed NGK platinum Plugs with MSD 8.5 Super conductor wires, and the MSD 4 tower ignition coils. I ran all the wires to the correct cylinders, and the car fired up first crank runs fine. But I noticed a small wirring noise that occours from 2,400 RPM untill 1,800 RPM when I let off the gas. The only thing i can think of that would cause the noise would be if the motor doesn't have enough fuel to keep up with the hotter spark and is now running lean to cause the motor to have a scavenging condition. I havent really had the oppourtunity to truely rip into it to see if its really has increased performance or not because it has been raining almost non stop for the last two weeks (I'm in mass). I did lay into 1st and 2nd gear earlier in the evening when the roads were medeocre at best and it did seem stronger.
So I ask all of you that have more expierience with mustangs, what do you guys think?
