Default slippery when wet

Curious to know, since I recently got my mustang not long ago, is there a way to make it safer to drive in wet conditions, I noticed it occasionally fish tails when it rains and I go into any kind of hard turn and such. Also I assume I will have problems in the winter with snow and ice since it's rear wheel drive. Would weighing the car down in the back, help or hurt it's performance in wet or icy conditions? I have a 2002 V6 Mustang.

you shouldnt be making hard turns in the wet. If you're fishtailing a V6 in the rain ur either driving way too hard or your tires suck. Get some all season tires and ull be fine. Do you have traction control? Stangs are fine in the winter when properly equipted with good tires.

I agree completely, Slow it down in the wet conditions, or get some new tires. If you need some additional traction in the winter, add about 150 pounds to your trunk directly over your tires.

Yup tires make all the difference! I drive my '02 GT 5-speed all year including winter, & here in Ontario Canada we get LOTS of snow & ice, so I bought 4 REAL winter tires not just all-season tires.

If your rear treads are worn out then replace them and/or rotate your front tires to the rear.

Is that you in the pic? Very cute [8D]

Definitely helps, after almost killing myself with worn nitto 555s all around i got a set of Dunlop Winter Sports and the thing was a savage in the snow, and I never put any additional weight in the back either )

+1 on the cute pic

I love the rain for that exact reason. Getting sideways is fun.
