Default cats on/off question

its illegal... if you get caught. but it sounds better off. you wont pass emissions with them off though.

Think of it like this: The cat's are the volume button & the mufflers as the tone button on your stereo.....

much better with them off! I'm lucky enough to not have emissions testing (yet) here in good IN, so that was the first thing to go and man, what a differnece it made.

Buy a three piece mac kit and have a shop custom fabricate some cats that will bolt on and off.

if youre all about loudness, ive seen selinoid kits floating around that you can install in front of your cats. pretty much, you put a hole in the midpipe on either side in front of each cat, and a pneumatic (or hydraulic, i dont remember which) piston holding a steel plate opens and closes the hole.

basically you can ride sleeper/legal whenever, then just flip the switch, and hear your car roar. and if you get pulled over for loud exhaust, you can usually get away with it because the cops will look under and see your cats and muffs attached.
