Default Ford 9" vs Ford 8.8" diff Pro's and Con's

Hey guys,
I will admit im not a mustang guy, but im seeking big horsepower numbers in my widebody Mazda RX-7. So I am searching for a beefy diff to hold up to the power.

I have been told several things about the 9" and the 8.8". 9" is apparently heavier and weaker, but it is a removable carrier. While the 8.8" is apparently stronger and it is a non removable carrier. Are these statements true?

My goal for my car is about 400-450 rwhp, and I will be building the differential myself. I have built a few before, and think im up for the task. Also do you guys recommend just using the stock trac lock or upgrading the cage/case to a eaton locker, torsen, or a detriot locker setup?

Thanks very much for your help and opinions!
