Default power window stopped working

Right side window stop working. Motor is turning but clutch is slipping.
I took off door panel and removed the motor. The motor is clean and functional.
The window is able to moves up and down manualy but has some stiff points.
The stiff points are in the same place as where the motor would stop the window.

I oil and cleaned the tracks and its better, but stiff point are still there.

Do I need a new motor or do I need to clean, adjust something?

thanks

If the motor is still out, if it's like a foxbody motor there will be 3 screws holding the cover to the gears. Take that off and have a look. The gears are made of plastic, they brake over time. You can get a gear kit from a local parts store if thats the problem. Done a few in my time.

I am 1 step ahaead. I took motor apart and gears looked fine, but the slipper clutch gizmo looked a little worn.
The grease had turned to a hard wax?

What store would carry the rebuild kit? never bought 1 before.

thanks

What local parts stores are in your area? Also try this first. Plug the motor back in, hold the gear w/ a pair of pliers in 1 hand and the body of the motor in the other. Have someone operate the switch. If it still slips, don't waste your money on a new gear set. Just buy a motor.

I can grab the gear with the motor off and over run the slipper clutch by hand.
I am not sure what torque this is but it is in-lb not ft-lbs

Oh
Any thoughts on alignment? I am pretty sure that the stiff window operation is what killed the clutch.
No much room to work in there? No sure what can be done to loosen it up other oil/grease.

The glass doesn't slide up and down easily by hand?

Not really. it is smooth in all but 2-places at the moment.

95% full up
75% full up

Door is clean with no rot, rust, or damage. cleaning and oiling help remove 1 rough spot and loosen up the other 2.

I have no comparison. I was thinking of taking apart the other door, but that motor wont fit.

any thoughts?

Could be something in the window regulator. Try some white lithium grease on the tracks and gears of the regulator. Also make sure the felt guides in the track channels aren't messed up anywhere.
