Default 351 Windsor headers

i have been lookin pretty deep into building up a 408 next year for the stang in vocational auto. i was lookin through summit and hooker sells headers to put a 351 windsor into a fox body, but i have aslo heard that the 351 will just drop right in. the headers are pretty expensive, so i dont want to buy it unless i have to. so heres the Q- do i need swap headers to drop a 351W into a fow body?

i might be able to help out a little, i put a 351 in my 86 and it was really easy for a motor thats not stock. you will have to get headers for it. i bought them used, but they are Mac 1 3/4 long tubes and went in pretty easily. the driver side is a 3 piece set up to get around the steering knuckle, but you still have to seperate it. the motor will drop right in, i used 302 convertable mounts, i believe the sit a little lower. on the hood clearance, it depends on what intake you use. at first i was running a performer rpm and my 2 1/2 inch cowl was fine. i ended up putting on a victor jr. and a 1 inch space, that took it over the top, now i have a 5" cowl that runs back all the way to the glass. other than that its the same as a 302, u can use all the 302 accessories, firing order, etc. i would recommend making it a roller motor though as i didnt. but i will highly recommend using the 351, it has tons of torque. let me know if you have any questions.

im thinkin of doin a MAC 3" all the way. i couldnt find a 3" midpipe from bbk. NOS/MAN- where did u find those headers? were they in Summit? i would definately prefer to do Heddmans cause i have heard bad things about MAC. plus, heddmans are cheaper.

also, i found a 428W stroker kit form street fighter (saw it in mustangs unlimited). anyone heard stuff about them? as they say, there is no replacement for displacement. plus, it would be sick to have big block displacement from a small block.
