hey guys, i was thinking about getting a chip for my 04 GT. do you know if this will void my warranty? also, i was told that you can gain about 20 HP from just the chip alone, is this true? will it gain that much on a stock car?

 

yeah it will only void your warranty if you take it to the dealer and the know you have one....but just stay away from generic chips

 

I dont know about the horsepower part but it will void your warranty. You can buy a programmer that sets your computer to racing and when you're done, set it back to the factory setting. You can call the dealer and ask what will void the warranty. They wont void it for asking.

 

On a stock Mustang or relatively stock Mustang..don't waste your money on a chip.

 

yea I agree w/ dan....chips r only good if u have mods that require that u change ur settings that r on ur stock chip...for instance mods that add more fuel or air

 

And in RollinThunder's case, a chip would be worth the money if that is the end of your mods. Great example oppourtunity!!!
