Default too hot

I cant seem to keep my car cool it's fine for about half a hour then it slowly gets above normal and the only way it stops geting hotter is to turn on the heater I am runing mostly water

Change the stat, run 50/50 and it should be fine.

drain it all out and pull the res out and clean it all out.... did you ever have a leak and just keep adding water? sounds like you need to run 50/50 and mabe even some of that super cool stuff from advance auto parts..

Have you checked your water pump? Make sure the the bottom of it is dry after running it. I had that happen in my 87' and my diaphram in my water pump was slowly rupturing. Until D-day hit. Not fun to see steam coming out of the hood.
