I waqs reading up the the t--56 trasmission from tremtec and it said that it is only good to 400 flbs? Can it go past this and if not what are you guys using for 6 speed tranny's for over 400 flbs?

they can hold more than 400, but dont know what. They can always be built for more, the guys at promotionpowertrain.com and a few other places builds them up to hold ~800

Stock rating on a Cobra spec T56 is closer to 450, I believe. D&D sells a viper spec T56 for Mustangs that holds well over that.

Viper spec t56 is 550 ft lbs, but it will hold 200 or so over that as long as you don't powershift it. My brother GTO on Nitrous is 530 ft lbs at the wheels when spraying and it is stock t56 only rated at 450.

What car? You can get a G-force T5 rated at 500-600 tq and a .59 5th gear--which is actually numerically lower than the 6th on a T56 (.63)--for hwy driving. If it's for a mod motor then nevermind....

Although GForce makes a T56, too. Mmmmmmmm.........
