Hi Guys,

I'm new here, so first I wil introduce myself. I'm from The Netherlands and we've got a '85 3.8V6 LX Convertible Mustang. A beautiful white one in very good condition. Only two things are a bit worn and torn. The brakepads, and the fan-belt.

My two questions, how to change the brakepads, I have taken a quick look, but dit not jet figured out how to dismantle the pads. Changing brakepads is not new for me, but it is new for me on an American car. Can somebody give my exact orders how to change the pads. Is it by the way a difficult / long job to do?

Also to change the brakedisc, when I was taking that quick look, I thougt that you could take them of by unbolting the nut from the hub?

Another thing is that you clearly can hear the fan-belt run, quite disturbing and annoying. So I want this one to change for a new one, the current one is also about 7 years old right now, so time to change it! Can also someone give me exact order how to change this one, and how to get it on the wright tension?

to give you full directions I would honestly say buy a haynes or chilton manual.

Both repairs you describe are fine for a do - it - yourselfer all you will need is a quality jack and some jack stands
