Default Anyone using royal purple?

Just wondering if you actually gain any noticable hp? (I want a testimonial, lol) I use mobil 1 now, so I figure I could just spend that extra buck...

You won't see any power increase from switching, but you may notice a mileage increase.

BTW, I use Amsoil with their written warranty. Never hurts to have some protection in writing, too...

ORIGINAL: live4motocross11

all hp gain claims r b.s.
Except for with Superchargers and Nitrous. My S/C is the only mod that gave me MORE than I expected. I didn't know Royal Purple even claims a HP increase. Just sounds like BS to me.
I use Synthetic Mobil-1 5W20 with a K&n Oil Filter.

well royal purple didn't start the claim...I believe horsepower tv or one of those shows did a dyno and gained 10 hp. since then I've heard of more tests showing similar gains. But it does have synerlec that bonds to microscopic "scratches" in the engine and fills them in. It also leaves a layer to protect during startup.[&:]

All oils will "fill scratches and leave a film" of oil that protects the engine. It is simply a matter of which does it best.

You will see some difference in power, but it all depends on your baseline. Start with sludgy 20w-50 dino and switch to 10w-30 synthetic after a flush, and I'm sure you could see 10hp. But it really isn't just a factor of the synthetic.

Read the independent studies and determine which works best for you. FYI, all synthetics will extend your engine life greatly over any dino-based oil. The brand you pick should be based on its warranty, value, and drain interval.

I used to use royal purple and noticed no difference in the performance. I use the mobil 1 10w-30. Never had any problems with that.

i reccomend royal purple as there stuff has this ingredient called Snerlec, helps prevent rust and cleans the combustion chamber at the same time.
