hi there have a problem starting my 85 stang when the key is turned the car turns over and starts but the starter is still engaging while the engine is running. I replaced the starter selinoid but it still does it, should i replace the starter? the key cylinder? could it be something in my crane ignition? Any help would be great thanks.

 

You can always take off the starter and have Autozone test it for free. Idk if you have another car to drive there, but if you find the starter is bad, you can order one online for a lot less than A-zone sells them for.

 

YOU ARE GONNA HAVE TO GET IT REPLACED......THE BENDIX IS BAD ON THE END OF THE STARTER.....GET AN AFTERMARKET STARTER THEN YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE THAT PROBLEM AGAIN......

 

thanks for the help i bought a new high torque racing starter to put in as soon as the temp goes down, it hit 97 today i think i will wait as i will have to lift the motor or take off the long tube header.
