Default Differences in the AOD and AODE

What are the differences in the AOD and AODE transmissions? i ask this because i'm looking for a manual on them but most are mainly emphasizing on the AOD. Maybe the AOD is close enough to AODE that i could study an AOD book?

will an AOD replace the AODE in my 94 GT 5.0? other than the electronics i mean will it bolt up like the AODE?
