Default headers

ive been thinking about getting a pair of equal length headers. i am running flowmaster mufflers with the factory sized pipe and still have the cats in. my question is, if i get headers, will my car be a lot louder then it is or not to much louder? i want my car to be a sleeper and if its rumbling realy loud at idle, it kind of ruins it.

It isnt easy to make a 5.0 a sleeper. Just about any exhaust work you do will give it away!

Don't worry about the sound too much, if you want a sleeper just keep the exterior stock or close to, especially with it being an LX that will be easier to do since they dont' look as aggresive as the GT's.

Equal length headers is not going to make the car much louder than it already is.... no worries

Actually with some brands you wont even notice a difference in sound..

Mello's right, I think in a previous thread she said she put BBK equal length on hers? I did the same thing to my 94 5.0 (and I have 40 series flowmasters) and it didn't really change the sound that much. No need to worry about it being a sleeper. The sound will be a little bit deeper, but that's about it.

Many headers don't make a noticeable difference is idle sound especially or if your rpms arent very high that won't be able to tell

well aton of stangs have exhaust upgrades so I would say adding a nice 2.5" exhaust won't give anything away
