67 Coupe Restore
Hey everybody. I just joined up a few minutes ago after searching around for a couple hours and deciding to go for it. My dad gave me his old 67 Coupe with the 289. It's a really nice car. It was built back in it's day, NA application. Dad ran it at the drag stip sometimes. I'm a dumb import guy, so I want to rip out the 289 and dump in a motor with EFI. I would also like a 6 speed to match it. I've got 2 other cars, a 94 Celica GT-S (Built NA daily driver, only about 170-180hp), and a 91 Metro iFX (pure race NA). I want to make this Mustang a weekend cruiser and possibly a car for long trips. I love my newer Import car, but you just can't beat that old style. So, what do you guys think would be a good option for me to go with on this Mustang. It was my dad's baby, so I must treat her right. It's the kind of car you never sell. This will be a long, long project btw. I just want to get an idea of how to start. Thanks guys.
If that's what your set on doing, I'd probably buy a crate engine from Ford Performance. I'm not sure about the six speed, five is the most I've ever had. You can find anything you need as far as original parts, there are many good suppliers these days.
