Default overhauling the engine

Hey all~

Within a year or so I'm going to completely rebuild my 1997 4.6. I am going to hopefully forge all the internals and do some head and cam work.

I'm trying to do some reasearch on say a bottom end overhaul kit that would include what I'm putting in... etc etc.

Also, who would make good quality measuring tools... like a micrometer set that I can use to inspect all the clearances before assembly. Any machine work I will be having done... but I want to measure before and after for my own good.

This fall for my automotive program I'm going to be taking engine overhaul, so I will be learning general procedures to apply towards my engine. I'm going to get all the tools I need to do it before I do it, so when the time comes I can just rock it out.

Anyone with information regarding good places for internal kits, tools, etc let me know, thanks!

George

DSS might have a kit for the 4.6 but I am not 100% sure. As far as tools go you can't go wrong with Craftsman or Snap On (you'll pay big bucks for Snap On but for precision tools it's worth it). Are you planning some kind of forced induction?
