Ebay performance chip modules??
Okay... so on ebay they sell these cheap chips that sell for under $50 and they wire into the factory harness of the IAT sensor. They advertize up to 20-35 hp gains. Also, all of these sellers have great ratings above 97% from alot of people... It sounds from the people that its a good deal and actually works... but im not so sure... have any of you tried any of these? or know if they work at all? They claim not to change MPGs and some ofther things... also not harmfull to the engine. What do u guys think?
Hope this link works http://cgi.ebay.ca/91-04-Ford-Mustan...QQcmdZViewItem thats one of the chips on ebay. thankss!

I personally don't know anything about them but do some research on google...they obviously sell them in other places besides eBay. If you have any more questions go to the PROMAX Performance site and maybe call customer support. Just don't tell them that you plan on buying their stuff off of eBay

I'll have to check it out and do some research. But from what it looks like (and given the price) it seems like this will simply make you run a bit leaner. Technically, that will give you more power, but it can also cause some problems depending on how lean you're running right now.
I can't guarantee that this is how they work, but it sure looks that way. Let me do some poking around to see what I can find out.

I have a completely stock 2002 mustang 3.8 so i guess that means i havent adjusted the leaness or richness... I looked around some more and there are a bunch of these "modules" being sold by different brands... i havent heard of any of them before but all of these users have really high ratings by quite alot of people... i havent seen any under 97% Looks sketchy but... maybe it works??? i thaughtd id ask u guys first before buying anything cuz you know a hell of alot more than i do.
I'd avoid anything like that. Basically, they are fooling your computer to think the air temp is cooler. Not a whole lot more than a resistor. You'd be much better off spending the money on other upgrades, like suspension and exhaust, than you would for something that can damage your engine.

It's funny how the wires going into the "module" only hook to two terminals of a very old looking integrated circuit. My advice is to leave these things alone.
Good parts are not cheap, and cheap things are not good!!!
