Default Newbee with tire question

Yes I am kinda new so please don't flame me too much (since this is probably a bad question!)...I am in need of two rear tires for my '01 Cobra, what is the consensus??? I have had a few people mention Nitto 555 Drag radials or the II track tires, but are they worth it and how long will they last? I don't drive the car too much, but should I go with something like the Goodyear Eagle F1 GD-3S or something like that? Once again, sorry for a possible dumb question, but you're dealing with a rock here! [sm=smiley8.gif] Is this even the right place to post this question???

lol its ok dont set yourself up for being slammed. man someone must a flammed you good. lol. anyway ive been looking at the nitto 555 drags and i have gotten alot of good feed back from them. alot of guys on this forum will tell you thats the tire of choice. it would be especially good for you because you dont drive the car that much. but heard after 5000 miles that its not really safe to drive in the rain. i think they last for about 10,000 miles or so . for some ppl thats about a year. if you want traction at the track you are gonna pay for it but i think the nittos are the way to go.

Yea I went the Nitto route. I honestly think that BFG's woulda given me more traction, but thats at the cost of them only lasting half as long as the Nitto's - and the Nittos don't exactly last a long time do they? Hehe, Honestly - IMO the Nitto555r's are the way to go. About 10k miles is about right if you see some drag time - less if you see alot and more if you see none.

If you want a tire thats gonna last longer than a drag radial - the regular Nitto's are quite sticky for a street radial tire, way better than the stock Goodyears.
