How does one remove the side scoops off of SN95 stangs? I want to take mine off to paint them black.

If I had to guess I would think that there's probably a couple of bolts behind the rear quarter panel.

 

New Edge scoops pop off...they're held in place by 6 or 8 little clips.

But I need something other than a guess and as I said, it's an SN95 (95GT to be exact) and not a New Edge.

I went to a car show last year and saw that somebody had painted their side scoops as well. I wascurious about it too. I believe they were bolted on. You can always call a body shop and ask them.

 

That's my next stop. I just thought I would check with my homeys on the forums! SURELY someone out here knows how to take them off. I haven't given it the hairy eye yet, I just figured I'd ask and *POOF* here comes the answer from someone who's done it.

Usually happens that way. This time, not so much.....

99-04 pull right off. they are held on w/ plastic pins...yours is probably the same way.

 

I have heard that they pop off and are just held in with clips. However, I have also heard that it can be a pain in the **** and it seems people tend to break them when removing them. Never tried myself though and I don't want to risk it.

I believe they are just held in with a few christmas tree clips that Ford seems to love so very much LOL.
