I have a 03GT (Yea, I know what my name is, but Im a retard and hit the '4' instead of the '3' when I was registering) and I am rapidly becoming disillusioned with the 4.6 SOHC POS in my car. Is it possible to put a 5.4L from a Navigator in my car? I mean, will the motor bolt to the engine cradle correctly, with the correct motor mounts, of course. Will the 5.4L bolt up to my 5spd tranny or will I have to change that as well? Are the 5.4L and 4.6L block the same dimensions?

I saw this website: http://www.powerpro2000.com/lb_ford.htm and I thought it might be doable to buy a 5.4L DOHC engine from a Navigator and slap some hi-performance stuff on it (performance heads and cams and full bolt ons).

Looks like this is building up some steam. Very doable IMO. I have found very little to suggest otherwise...

it all works, but be prepared to spend coin, you need to rewire literally everything regarding the engine but once done it's a beast

Are there a decent amount of aftermarket performance parts available for the 5.4L DOHC? Do they use the same intake manifolds as the 4.6L? And, what do you mean rewire everything? I assume it would use a totally different computer? How much coin would I be looking to spend exactly? As long as I stay in the 15k range, I could be pretty happy with that.
