I have a 97 cobra with 245/40/R17's all around and im wondering how wide of tires i can go safely in the back. I would like to keep the same rims if possible so can i get wider tires on the same rim or do i have to get a different size rim. Thanks,
you sure they arent 245/45-17? I have 275/40-17 555Rs on the rear right now and they fit mint. You probably wont wanna go much wider than that on an 8" rim (assuming u have the stock wheels)
Go with 275/40/17's all the way around if you aren't staggered. That way you can rotate them. You shouldn't have any problems with fitment on the front with turning as I have them on mine
