Default Horsepower estimate?

For several years I've run a stock '89 Mustang GT engine in my '74 Bronco. It finally got too tired, so I built a new engine last year. I bought a 5.0 short block from Ford Racing, added AFR165 heads, E303 cam and Ford Racing 1.7 roller rockers. Also added James Duff long tube headers (specifically for early Bronco). To all of this I added the stock upper and lower intake, throttle body, injection and computer from my '89 engine.

By way of comparison, I used to have to get about a 75 yard run at my Favorite big dune on the Oregon Coast (Sand Lake) and downshift right at the crest to make it to the top. Now I can drive up to the foot of the bowl in second gear, light it off and power my way to the top without a run or a down shift.

As the old '89 engine was rated at 225 hp, I'm just wondering if anybody has a good estimate of approximately what sort of horsepower I'm running now?

That's a nice lookin classic Bronco! [8D] I've no idea of a HP guesstimate, but suggest you should go run it on a chassis dyno & see how much WHEEL horsepower you're getting. After all that's the most important HP!

I would say you are making about 325-335 at the flywheel on a stock manifold... I have Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, Stage 1 cam... a little bigger than the E303... Edeldrock Performer RPM Air-Gap manifold, Holley Street Avenger carb, underdrive pulleys, no a/c, BBk headers, and an H-pipe with no cats... Im making around 375-385 at the flywheel. My car also likes the juice

Very nice wheels - kind of "sleepery." I'll bet you surprise the heck out of the ricers.

All the imports that pull up or talk to me think they will smoke me and always talk sh*t... but then i pop the hood or smoke them and they never say anything again... then people always say "oh i heard about you... I heard you were quick" And i say "No not really... it alright" I guess word gets around...
