engine decision

Okay i've been thinkin about this too much, i need your guys help real bad. I've gone away from the fact of a 350, cause its chevy and i cant bereath the name of ford so i was lookin at the windsor 351, but i think thats a little to much, but the 289 just doesnt cut it in what im looking for. well basically i want a everyday driver, but with a little sumthin sumthin under the hood to back up the insults i throw out at everone <IMG src=smileys/smiley15.gif border="0">, the 351 seems a bit too much, ANY IDEAS?

What do you mean a bit too much?

Too much money? Too many cubic inches? Too big? They aren't all that different from a 302. I can see a 460 perhaps being a bit too much, weighing what? 300 pounds or so more than a 302, but...

I mean by a bit to much in that its a bit too much power for me, i was wondering if there were any crate engines that werent 289 or 351, but was btw those 2, or is my best bet to rebuild the 289?</P>
