I have a 1991 5.0, AOD and when i have the car in gear i accelerate and i hear a ticking noise.. (Really annoying) So I brought it to my friends and lifted it on the hoist and the sound is coming from the front of the bell housing. Im told there is a pump there.. does the tranny need to be pulled to replace this pump? and is it a bitch?

 

yes you would have to pull the tranny, it wouldent be too bad about a days work and it might be a lil fustrating, but i dont think theres a pump in there give some more details and you will get a better answer on your problem
