traction locks???
I cant burn out off the line out of drive, but i can power brake and leave 2 tracks. Someone told me that I might need a traction lock rebuild. Could that be the case? I just recently got the car and I am pretty sure i should be able to squeel them without a problem. Any pointers? It seems to me that the traction locks are fine since both wheels spin...
Two black stripes equals good limited slip.
There is also a spec to check the torque required to turn one wheel with one wheel off the ground.
Not being able to spin the tires off the line has more to do with the available traction, engine power, and tranny setup.

chances are with the 8.8 trak lok rearemd, you'll need to replace the trak lok clutches, they are available at summit or jegs, be sure to soak the clutch discs in rear diff fliud for a few days prior to installing them. you'll need 3 qts or rear diff fluid also.
If you cant spin em from a dead stop without brake torquing thats more with your engine output rather than your limited slip. If your limited slip was broken or not working it would be a single spinner and only leave 1 patch. Im going to assume you have an auto, the AOD is not very burnout friendly. I have one in my truck and even with 3.73 gears, it doesnt wanna break em loose. You might wanna consider a stall torque convertor, itll make it a lot easier to break the tires loose.
