HELP
im really stuck.... i want a fast car, but for my parents to pay anything it has to be reliable... i really want a 67 302 stang, but i dont think its gonna end up happening (it might though), the car has to have less then 30000 miles and ill prolly have around 10k for it.... what should i do? go newer (2001) v6? or should i try to stay older? im not sure... well i have till next april to decide but id like others imput
Zc,

under 30K - probably looking at a car that's not more than 4 yrs old.

Reliable? - depends on what condition it is when you buy it, but if it's under 30K it probably will be reliable from the getgo. - I've seen '99 and '00 4.6s for less than 10K in very nice condition.

a '67 is only reliable if someone MADE it reliable, which means you'll have to pay for it (probably way more than 10k), or you make it, which means YOURE going to have to do the work and that shuts down the fact that your folks want under 30Kmiles, good MPG and reliable at the time of purchase...... --

You are probably going to be better off purchasing a newer '99 or '00 4.6 Stang - all around.

oh absolutely...now I'm not ragging on the V6s, don't get me wrong, I have a 2000 V6 Convertible and it's great, but definitely go with a 4.6, the newer (within those parameters of course) the better.
:\ the only 4.6 ive found under those parameters (<30kmiles) (1999-2004) was on autotrader for 10900, probably can get down to 10100? but ya i guess ill just have to save up a bit more :P i think its worth it though... ya but if i was gonna get a v6 id probably go with camaro but if i can find a decent GT that would be pretty sweet, oh well i have plenty of time to think about it (next april) when the other players will come in for paying for my car
