Default Squeeky belts

anybody has any method of getting rid of squeeks coming from rubber belts such as the timing belt? it is really annoying when cold start the engine. what liquid to use or whatever works. thanks !

You mean the serpentine belt. You may be due for a new belt. I know people that have had belts squeek and they sprayed them with some silicone spray and that got rid of the squeek for a while.

Ahhh, dont use silicone, thats a lubricant, use belt dressing to get you by, its like 3 bucks a can.

COme on guys, tell him the old-school method I usually take a bar of soap and hold it under the belt. Hold it just firm enough so that the belt will grove the soap. And there you go... no more squeaks

really the sprays dont do alot for the belt but soften it and make it stop squeeking for short periods until it drys out again, mine has a little squeel when its a cold start i learned to ignor it since it goes away once it hits normal temp.

Does that soap thing really work?? and on another note my buddy put anti squeel stuff on his belt and it made his engine whine a little bit...kind of the same noise as a supercharger...just not nearly as loud.

i dont know about the soap, but i used grease called krytox(for bushings) and it works fine! recommended
