Is this a good upgrade?
I saw these on RPMOutlet.com, this is pretty inexpensive, although I am pretty sure it doesn't add no 15 HP but is this a reasonable upgrade for the price? It's a set of Motoblue spark plug wires. Heres the link:

I have an 01 Cobra. I just want to know if it's worth doing cause it's only $90, and if it will help along the way to getting high HP, then why not spend $90 for these.
Thanks for the help!

horrible upgrade, wont find a place for it...you need to look for granatelli's coil packs...u got a coil-on-plug ignition, which means no wires of that sort...they are talking the coil packs found on 96-98 modulars...RPM Outlet has always been shady to me...it doesnt surprise me they showed this under the 99-01 (i have an 99 cobra btw)
Upgrading wires and plugs on a healthy engine gives gains of less than 1 horsepower at the wheels, and these gains can not be measured on a chassy dyno. You have coil on plugs, no wires, coils sit directly on plugs.
If you want something cheap to upgrade, in that dollar range, then you can go aftermarket ignition system, which should cost you less than $150. The idea is that if you drop a heat range in plugs and get cooler thermostat, you can run more timing and thus get more efficient engine and more power. Additionally you can run closer to dark side of detonation and get even more power at the expense of increased emissions. More over, better ignition technologies, such as capacitive discharge and timing based on acceleration can help you gain even more power. The idea is that if your engine is accelerating above 1500 rpm per second you can ignore detonation all together as there is no time for it. A regular chip (tuned) can deal with timing, but costs more money and costs some money to retune, so it isnt of much use. Im using an open source do it yourself ignition controller which controls ford EDIS module. Installation and assembly of such controller requires some electronic skills and isnt for everyone. If you above avarage with following instructions and assembling things, and can understand the theory behind, then let me know, Ill give you link.

I already have a SCT Xcal2 tuner programmer in my car. I am looking to buy something in the range of $150 or less. I don't know much about upgrades for more HP besides the basics (intake, programmer, pulleys, exhaust). I am looking for those hidden upgrades, any links will help a lot.
well the "hidden upgrades" come in the form of timing and tuning, advancing your timing and changing small parts (spark plugs etc) to yank an extra couple horsepower out...other than that, weight is a great hidden upgrade (every 100 lbs. is a .10 of your ET for reference)...there are various sites all over that deal in these little odds and ends...or post up in 4.6 or 5.0 or something and you'll get better info
