Which Is Cheaper?

RE: Which Is Cheaper?
cheapest option is do it yourself and use a rebuilt alternator from a name brand auto parts store who will warranty the alternator for a year or more. and nine times out of ten you don't even need a new drive belt either.

Well i have 3 mustangs now and changed the altenator in one its a very simple job just take off the belt off the pully and there are i believe 3 bolts holding on ur altenator. it is much cheaper to do it urself than take it to a shop. it should take about an hour or a little more depending on whether u have done it or not before. if u have the tools i would say go for and if u have any questions about it u should buy a manual for small repairs on ur car a good investment and a good reference guide it ur doing it for the first time

Goto an altenator shop and have your rebuilt. All of these name brand auto parts stores sell junk. I think it might be cheaper too. Its easy to put on. If your belt looks good, keep it. If it don't, keep it in your trunk. You might need it if the new one goes. Better then sitting on the side of the road.
