First thing, first, great site, ive been reading for a while and decided to register and post a question.

Im shopping around for a mustang now, probably wont buy till near summer time.

Im having a hard time here deciding what i want though. Between the 03/4 cobras and 03/4 mach 1

I want a car that will run 12 low to 11 mid and be a good daily driver, i know its doable with both the mach1 and the cobra. but which would be a better buy?

around me the cobras are going for about 30k and mach 1s are going for somethin around 20k.

Either way i go, (even if i get a cobra) im going to put a kenne belle or procharger on and do all the cool stuff to make things go fast.

I love the way the mach1s look, but can the internals hold up to boost? i saw on kenne bell or procharger that they can run up to something like 450 hp before you need to do excessive mods just to get them to run right (and i dont want to deal with that stuff)

Bottom line, Mach 1 or Cobra for a high 11- low 12 car ?

I'd go with the mach if its performance your looking for. The cobras are awesome, but the IRS rear suspension is much heavier and doesnt launch as well as the solid axle on the mach's

 

the other thing about it is i love the shaker hood and the interiors of the mach1.

the cobras are fast and totally badass. but the mach1 just says "muscle car" and thats what i like about it.

yeah it kind of seems like it, but how easy/hard do you think it would be to get a mach into the low 12s ?

i love that most parts for american cars are way cheaper than imports. at least it was that way for my truck (a chevy). which ill also be keeping i think for winter and woods bashing.

isnt the Mach 1 independent rear suspension like the cobra ? i thought it was, but maybe im wrong.

Tires
Gears
Kenne Bell
Suspension.
Then you would surely be in to the 12's

oh another thing i should add...

im about 6'7" - 6'8, what are the odds of me actually FITTING in a mustang? b/c i dont fit in my friends firebird. but back in the early 90s my dad had a GT 5.0 and he fit fine, but he was only 6'3
