Default timing chain help

im assembling a 351 and got a trickflow billet steel timing chain.. I went to put it on and the dowel on the cam is not lining up. i thought they would slip right on. is there a trick to it? its almost like its one link short. i doubled checked the part numbers that summit racing sent and they all check out... so is it me or the part? the dowel is only off by like maybe half a dowel. im afraid to try to stretch it on account it may stress the front bearings on the crank and cam and cause premature failure.. so any ideas?

Default RE: timing chain help

Should be tight. If the gears aren't lined up directly, it will look like things don't line up between the crank and cam.
