Default Theft & VIN ...

Hi,

Has anyone used a "VIN Etching" kit, like the one offered here: http://www.vinetcher.com/ ? Any comments on how it turned out, & if you think it's effective & which brand is the best?

TIA

The only thing that's etched is the glass and there's a lot more to sell than just the glass. The body panels on most,if not all,new cars have VIN's either on stickers or pressed into the metal anyway. When law enforcement find parts that don't have VIN's they get real suspicious.
Besides when a car is stolen, most of them are used for joyriding and get pretty much destroyed in the process.
As far as your insurance company, give them a call and see what they say.
