Default Recommended Clutch Replacement?

The clutch on my 95' 5.0 5 spd is about to give out and i have been looking for info on what is a good replacement or upgrade clutch to replace this one with. I am also trying to figure out what else needs to be replaced along with the clutch while the mechanic has the bell housing off so i can get my money's worth out of the labor fee and so i can replace it all in one shot. If anyone also has any info on how much more affective an aluminum flywheel would be over stock that would also be helpful because i am considering uprgrading the flywheel if the results are worth the cost of an aluminum flywheel. Any help would be greatly appreciated so i can get the car back on the road without any problems, thanks, Paul

they dont make one for my car...but if they make one for your car ive heard nothing but good things about the King Cobra clutch.

im getting a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch in 11 days. my tuner recommended it over Spec or other brands...so thats what im gonna try.

ya get a king cobra clutch... they are bad ***.... i have one on my 89 gt and its amazing, real easy to put it to the floor! if u dont upgrade the flywheel at least get it resurfaced and then u are good to go man.... just make sure u break in that new clutch... prolly take about 500 miles of taking it easy... if u prematurely burn it then expect to get bak under there in a couple of months

I have heard the same about the king cobra clutch and i also noticed that its one of the less pricier ones so thats the one im going to go with im just afraid to see what the labor price is gonna be for all of this. I am assuming more than the clutch itself espcially if im going to get the flywheel resurfaced, would you happen to kno how much the labor would cost at the average transmission shop? once again thanks for your advice

A ford dealership will usually charge around 360.00 for labor so I assume most shop will be cheaper.

thats rough but its gotta be done i'll see what kinda deal i can get from the local shops. would anyone happen to know if a clutch adjuster kit with a upgraded quadrant is a must after intalling the king cobra, i have heard that when you put in an aftermarket or heavier clutch that a stronger quadrant should be used istead of the stock plastic, is this a myth or is it really needed?

the speed shop where im going quoted me $300 + $35 to resurface the flywheel. seems to be average...plus theyre doing a bunch of other work so i figured id have them do everything.

tranny work is never cheap though. [&:]

I've had nothing but good luck with Centerforce behind a 375+ hp small block driving 3.80:1 gears.
