Default PLEASE HELP WITH JACK

Ok im 16 and i pretty much do everything to my car maintenance wise myself. My dad comes home from work today and catches me about to jack my car up and says "Thats not safe at all, when i was a boy we had a jack that we used to jack up the entire front of the car at once." He said it was like the jack i have, a regular floor jack, but instead of having one arm to raise each of the sides seperately it had 2 arms from one pump that raised it at the same time. Anyone heard of this, he said hed get me one for xmas if i could find it.

Sounds like a post from a 2-post lift.

As long as you're using jack stands and not messing with the car (using it for balance, wrenching, etc.), you'll be fine. I have this one.

Best bet is to get an $89 large few ton floor
jack that has a two piece long handle.
Also a set of jack stands.
As long as you get it up and the stands in
place you should be ok.

definetly use jack stands. I dont because I dont have any I just use 3 jacks also its a good idea to put something behind the front wheel if you are jacking the back up since the ebrake only locks the rear rotors
